I'm here for the fun, the interest, the routine, being surrounded in my home by nice things, being able to shop a lot, the rush of selling an item at a nice profit, having a place (my shop) where I like to think people can come to find that "thing" they want or need that they couldn't find anywhere else .... etc etc. I'm pretty sure that makes me a hobby seller. Jan $178 profit Feb $238 profit March $510 profit April/May $281 profit June $298 loss July $200 loss Aug $336 loss Sep $262...

It was on CW ages ago. You start off with two words that go together eg Petrol Station and then you take the second word from that pair and have a new pair eg Station Platform and then the next person does the same, so next post could be Platform Shoe

And so Lord of the String said unto the peoples, "Go forth anew. Seek a land you can call your own." The people saw it was good. So, on the last day the people said their solemn goodbyes and began the long journey to the promised new land. And so began the new land and its people were joyous! Hello I am sure there are a couple of posters that frequent this board who home school high school students in NSW. We have moved from QLD to NSW and next year will be home schooling our daughter who will be in Year 7. I do have a list of sites for resources but what I wanted to know is what books have worked for you and what you would avoid - especially keen to hear what maths resources you consider the best. Thanks Michelle

PLEASE!!! My new stall at Burnie Farmers Market is called Drop your Jeans The service is repairing jeans....Zips, pockets, buttons and hems......although people have asked if I'll do tent bag zips, jacket zips, skirt hems etc. I will but the focus is on jeans. I have a red curtain backdrop and the letters are cut from recycled denim jeans. I have taken 100s of photos of bits of jeans to use as a background on the card and planned to use red text. The trouble is I'm not really...

In short, I am up a few hundred dollars per month but working twice as hard to do it. I am logging up maybe an extra 10-20 hours per week! The difference is not just extra packing (no complaint there) - but the increased listing costs require a lot closer monitoring and tinkering of the store to keep it lean, mean and profitable. I now find I have to look all listings about to end soon and make a decision as to whether to end them or not. I am also starting to look ahead a few days and...

Today I acquired a Gavin Playfair 1997 Collectors Edition Calendar, A Brush with Nature. It actually belongs to a friend and I volunteered to try and find information about it. It appears to have been produced by/for Medrecon, The Operating Theatre People. It has 12 pictures of Australian Birds in their natural habitat. Have to say it is a pretty classy calendar and in immaculate condition. Would be interested to hear your thoughts regarding collectability and maybe value. Can do a photo if...

I've added a few posts to 'want it now' ( Link ) over the last few months or so and i have to wonder if sellers actually look there or if many of them even know of its existence. With my selling hat on, i also check out the posts from time to time to see if anyone is after something that i have that i wouldn't normally list. I also have saved searches for the same reason. Just out of curiosity - Do you check the want it now posts? If so how often?

Hi, I am selling a large batch of my CD's and have them all listed as Free Post. The listing makes it clear that the free post is for Aussie buyers and asks international buyers to contact me for postage price. I have had a chap in the US buy one of my cds for au$9.50 and he did an instant payment for it without paying postage. It will cost me au$6.30 to post it, so with ebay and paypal fees not to mention the free Oz post cd mailer that I throw in with my cd's I will make a loss on...

Hello all, I cannot belive my bad luck. I paid for 10 items from the most abusive seller I have ever encountered. I received the items (amazingly) and left 10 x negative feedback on Saturday. Last night the seller opened 8 (why not 10 - I don't know) unpaid item cases against me. Today they are no longer a registered user. I obviously cannot contact them - not that I would want to because they were so rude to begin with. If I click on the 'pay now' button in the case it comes up 'no...

While entering McDonalds on the weekend, I noticed a middle aged women ( maybe 37-40 age ) sitting at a bench table. This woman was SO obese, she could not fit in behind the table, so she just kind of sat on the corner of the seat, and the rest of her sat in the isle. In front of her was a tray with a couple of burgers, a thickshake and she was eating a hash brown. Her ?? hubby ?? sat opposit. Here is my question- Does McDonald has a legal right to refuse her service under the *DUTY OF...

I've not long sent a few 'your items have been posted' emails through ebay messages. And only because i thought i made a mistake on one i went to check what was sent. No record of ANY outgoing emails in ebay messages. No copies have come through to my emails either. and yes, i checked the little boxes at the bottom. So obviously i am now wondering if any of these emails have gone through to my customers. I'm getting a little tired of all the glitches.

(not sure if I could type the full word in my title). A friend of mine has a baby she is breast feeding, and she drinks alcohol. I thought it was the odd glass here and there. But it seems like it is more regular than that. Then over the weekend she had a HUGE night of drinking, and was hung over on sunday. Her wee baby is too small for solids. She never has anything other than breast milk. Now I never touched a drop while I was pregnant or breastfeeding because I figured even if...

Let me start by saying, you couldn't get a more sceptical non beleiver than me, But the other night I had the most unusal visitors, woke up at exactly 3.30am, because I glanced at the clock, and there at the end of the bed was a ghostly figure of a bearded man dressed in Victorian clothes, naturally thought I was dreaming so didn't think much of it. But I sat up on one elbow and watched as he disappeared and was followed by many other ghostly figures, men, women and children of all...
